Visual Assessment & KIDPLAN

The goat industry in Australia continues to grow and there is an emerging need for education that clearly guides key stakeholders towards understanding quality goats. We hope you enjoy the following seminars on visual assessment.

  • BUCK SELECTION

  • THE REAR END

For sometime we have been an active participant of KIDPLAN and as part of this program we record regular figures of our animals performance on various measures. This data will allow us and customers to make decisions on animal performance based on visual assessment and figures. More information will be released overtime in this area, as this will become increasingly important within the goat industry in Australia and overseas.

SUPPORT GETTING GOAT MEAT ON AUSSIE PLATES!!!

February 2023: There has been an overreliance on overseas markets for meat and livestock export. The recent price correction was going to occur and this price drop has been exacerbated by not focusing more on building a consistent supply chain within Australia. This should be the primary goal for the sector in the long term is to grow the Australian goat meat industry for Australian consumption.

February 2023 at Pinnacle Sale Culberts Meats bought serious sires, as they have farmed and butchered goats for years.

Prices for cattle and lamb have also dropped, but goat meat still has so much more potential to grow where beef and lamb are in every supermarket meat section. This is a great opportunity for many key stakeholders including the Australian meat consumer.
